A few points of interest:
- The theater is in a walk-up attic that was finished in the '50's (we're guessing) with 3/4" tongue & groove pine and a cork floor.
- The walk-up enters from the rear of the 24' long by 13' wide room. Excluding the staircase, the room's length is 17'.
- I built the equipment cabinets myself to hold equipment on one side and provide storage and a subwoofer enclosure on the other. I tried to use materials and construction that would match the room's decor.
- A couple of cool construction notes are that the inner equipment racks are removable, the receiver/preamp shelf rolls out, and the tops of both equipment cabinets lift like toy chest lids for easy access.
- Both cabinets have "piano lamps" mounted behind them to provide a wash of light on the back wall. The lamps are controlled by a dimmer placed by the couch.
