These are the statistics provided to us by the Blu-Ray group

for October 2007.

May 2007: 1 Millionth Blu-ray Disc sold


June 2007: Blockbuster announced its exclusive support for Blu-ray in 1,450 of its 1,700 corporate-owned Blockbuster stores


June 2007: BJ’s Wholesale announces exclusive support for Blu-Ray


July 2007: Target announces that the only high definition CE player it will carry in stores will be Blu-ray


July 2007: 2 Millionth Blu-ray Disc sold, surpassing HD DVD on inception to date sales


Sept. 2007: 3 Millionth Blu-ray Disc sold


Sept. 2007: Home Theater Specialist of America (representing a total buying power of $500 million, 62 retailers, 97 store fronts and more than 800 installers) endorses Blu-ray and announces that a survey of its members reveals 92% of their player sales were Blu-ray Disc players.


Oct. 2007: Home Media Research releases software sales numbers for first 3 quarters of 2007.  The data shows:


                       Blu-ray software outsells HD-DVD by a margin of 2:1

             

                       Blu-Ray software sales account for 61% of the high definition

                       software sales from the inception of high definition optical disc,

                       up from 47% as of January 1, 2007.


                       17 of top 20 selling HD titles in 2007 area vailable on Blu-ray Disc.
