Regarding Steve Nickerson's presentation of Summit's upcoming releases...
At first I was nervous about what type of films they had coming out. What a great surprise to find they had several big budget pictures with "A" list stars, including Nicholas Cage, Adrian Brody and Rachel Weisz. Not only that, they have Rian Johnson's next picture, "The Brothers Bloom", Johnson being the director of perhaps the finest noir film in the past 10 years, "Brick". Nickerson's presentation of roughly ten films in various states of completion shows amazing promise and excitement, reminding me of when Dreamworks SKG was formed.
Based on Steve's presentation, this studio may be the one to watch in the coming years. They have the US and international rights to Imagi's upcoming CGI "Astro Boy" picture, an adaption of DC Comics/ Wildstorm's comic "Red", a re-imagining of cult classic "Highlander", and many others. Nickerson also showed our group the Blu-Ray of an upcoming movie of theirs (the name of which escapes me) utilizing a multi-angle feature to get almost a 360 view of a MMA style fight.
Sorry if this sounds a bit like a press release, which it's not, but I think this studio needs some attention. Nickerson comes a bit battle weary from the HD-DVD/BD war, but he was very optimistic about BD and ready to utilize the format to its potential.

“Sex Drive“ will be this year's breakout hit, bank on it. Big wishes for major success for these guys and for Magnolia too. I just wish Mag would have come to talk to us and I REAAALLY appreciate Summit coming to speak to us, especially Mr. Nickerson. Thank you for the awesome presentation!!!!

'Sex Drive' does seem like it will be an intelligent sex comedy akin to that of 'Superbad' instead of gross out like 'Love Guru'.
Also Alex Proyas new film with Nicholas Cage seems interesting as well.
